OONI CELEBRATES THE HEROIC PASSAGE OF A TRUE YORUBA LEADER PA AYO ADEBANJO
February 15, 2025A group, African Socio- Cultural Harmony and Enlightenment Foundation (ASHE) has congratulated the new Alaafin of Oyo, Akeem Owoade, just as it commended Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, for allowing Ifa, traditional means of divination to select the monarch.
The group in a statement signed by the president of it’s think tank, Prince Justice Jadesola Faloye, stated that it is good that Oyo state governor rejuvenated the traditional means of determining the right choice in Yoruba land which is Ifa.
It also urged the governor to go a step further by prosecuting those who want to corrupt the selective process, so that it can serve as deterrent to others.
“We implore the governor to complete the process to avoid doubt by prosecuting to the full extent of the law all those found guilty, in order to send a warning to those corrupting our traditional institutions.”
The group stated that it is a great pleasure to witness Professor Wande Abimbola, one of the world’s foremost Ifa practitioners, crown his life-long achievements in Ifa with the midwifery of the selection of Alaafin based solely on pure Ifa – a clear sign of the dawn of scientific spiritualism needed for the renaissance of the indigenous African civilization.
“We congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde for the brave decisive action to cleanse the selection process that has been corrupted by colonialism over time – a pivotal action required at the cusp of the age of Shango that changes the mantra from might is right to right is might.”
The group urged Alaafin Owoade to appreciate the cosmic reason for his selection to lead Oyo, Yoruba, and the indigenous African civilization based on the very Ifa that brought him to office.
ASHE stated that the new Alaafin has it in him to strengthen the civilisational structure with Osun brotherly love and common origins to uplift Oyo, Yoruba, and the black race.
“There can be no Yoruba renaissance without an Indigenous African civilization renaissance, because in practice, the world is divided along civilizations, and no single ethnicity, not to talk of sub- ethnic group, can compete globally without a strong civilizational backing.”
